Here’s how God has shown up in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia 6430.
On October 24, 2008, Dr. Sean George, a respected physician in Western Australia, was returning home from a medical outreach clinic in Esperance — a 400-kilometer journey through the outback.
During the drive, Sean began to feel discomfort in his chest.
“It wasn’t pain, just a strange pressure,” he recalled. “I thought maybe it was something I ate.”
As the discomfort worsened, Sean called his wife, Sherry, also a doctor, to tell her he wasn’t feeling well. She urged him to get to the nearest hospital. Instead of continuing to Kalgoorlie, Sean stopped at the small Kambalda Medical Centre, feeling a deep conviction in his heart that he needed to stop now.
There, he ran an ECG on himself — and what he saw made his blood run cold.
“I looked at the results and said, ‘Oh my God, I’m having a heart attack.’”
Clinically Dead for 85 Minutes

Just 11 minutes after that ECG, Sean’s heart stopped beating.
For the next 70 minutes, medical staff worked desperately to revive him. They performed over 4,000 chest compressions, administered multiple medications, and delivered 13 electric shocks.
Nothing worked.
After more than an hour, they stopped all resuscitation efforts except oxygen support. Sean was clinically dead — his heart flatlined for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Medical science tells us that after just 3 minutes without oxygen, brain cells begin to die. After 20 minutes, the brain is considered permanently damaged. Yet God was writing a very different ending to this story.
🙏 A Wife’s Simple, Powerful Prayer
When Sherry arrived at the clinic with two of Sean’s colleagues, she was told the devastating news: her husband was gone.
But instead of giving up, she took his hand, closed her eyes, and prayed a simple, faith-filled prayer.
“Lord Jesus, Sean is only 39, I am 38, and we have a 10-year-old boy. I need a miracle.”
Moments later, monitors in the room began to beep. Nurses rushed to check the readings — Sean’s heart had started beating again.
“When I heard the sound of the heart monitor,” Sherry said, “I knew God had answered my prayer.”
Sean had come back to life — after being dead for 85 minutes.
A Recovery That Defied Medicine
Sean was rushed to Kalgoorlie Hospital and later airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital, where doctors inserted a stent to clear a blocked artery.
They warned his family that even if he survived, he would likely suffer brain damage and organ failure due to the prolonged cardiac arrest.
But God had already done the impossible.
Two days later, Sean opened his eyes. Within a week, he was moving, speaking, and fully conscious.
“When I woke up and realized I could talk, see, move, and think clearly, I knew it was God,” he said.
By the 13th day, Sean was discharged from the hospital — completely healed. Doctors began referring to him as the “Miracle Man.”
Within three months, he was back to work at Kalgoorlie Hospital full-time.
A Life Forever Changed
Looking back, Dr. George says his resurrection wasn’t just about survival — it was a message for every believer.
“Jesus Christ really is the Creator God, the giver of life, the accomplisher of impossible things,” he said.
“He responds to the humble prayers of His servants.”
He adds, “Eternity is only a breath away for us all. What really matters is our relationship with God.”
Today, Sean and Sherry begin each morning together in prayer, thankful for the miracle that changed their lives.
“Every day we read the Bible and thank God for another day,” said Sherry. “We’ll never take that for granted.”
